De Olifant little cigars from the manufacturing factory in Kampen

Since 1825, the current mayor Frans Lemker von Kampen (Holland) began to improve the infrastructure around and in the city. In 1826 the Bremen entrepreneur Johann Lehmkuhl used these favorable conditions and founded a tobacco factory that had later started producing the De Olifant little cigars. Thus, the German laid the foundation stone for a development that made Kampen a cigar city in the 19th century. The tobacco processing industry brought wages and bread to hundreds of workers in Kampen. Over 120 factories were settled. Today, however, there is only one manufacturing factory in Kampen: De Olifant. Short filler De Olifant little cigars are made according to Dutch tradition. These consist of a short-cut insert mix, a binder and a cover sheet.

The insert consists of Java, Sumatra, Brazil and Cuba tobacco. The unique thing about De Olifant little cigars is the fact that each format has its specific mix.
The tobacco inlays are then wrapped in the binder. It is a very important component for the cigar. Each of these leaves must have a homogeneous taste and is selected individually by hand. It has an excellent structure, strength and quality of burning, and keeps the embers alive. De Olifant has been sourcing its binder from the Besuki district on the Indonesian island of Java for years and days.

The insert mix and binder of De Olifant little cigars are finally covered with the rare original Sumatra sand leaf, the taste and aroma of which is second to none. The original Sumatra sand leaf, which is extremely popular among aficionados, is only grown in very small quantities and is often referred to by connoisseurs as “white-burning gold”. This term is no coincidence: a kilogram of cover page is more expensive than a kilogram of silver! De Olifant is one of the few producers who ever uses this cover page.

The De Olifant little cigars unfold spicy aromas with fruity undertones thanks to a voluminous ring size of 30. The De Olifant little cigars are particularly large cigarillos that are more reminiscent of cigars, both in terms of their look and taste. The aromatic cigarillos ensure 30 minutes of enjoyment.
