German – Dutch Balmoral little cigars

The name of Balmoral little cigars stands for the last independent cigar producer in the Netherlands. Boris, a descendant of the founder Jacques Wintermans, runs the brand founded in 1895 and, together with his master blenders, focuses primarily on the finest selection. Because the tobaccos for the three lines of the Royal Selection do not come from Holland.

Balmoral little cigars are made from carefully selected tobacco from the Caribbean. They are spicy, medium-strength little sisters of the Dominican cigar culture.

Balmoral little cigars selection is named after a castle of the English royal family. The mix goes back to the roots of the East India Company around 1860.

They are the most exclusive what the Agio house has to offer in the field of short fillers. Produced with a mixture of exquisite Caribbean tobacco in the insert, this series smokes pleasantly mild. A cigar for beginners as well as for the experienced aficionado.

The various formats of the Balmoral little cigars used to be available in a (normal) yellow and in a somewhat milder (blue) version. In the meantime, only the “classic” yellow ones are available.

Balmoral little cigars have a fruity and spicy fragrance when not lit. When it burns, it becomes quite strong and rustic. A distinctly woody note appears, which is accompanied by a fine sharpness. Towards the end, the Balmoral little cigars show an even more dominant sharpness and definitely bitter moments.

Balmoral little cigars are recommended to the cigarillo professional due to their very spicy character. As a contrast to the pleasure of smoking, a sweet little espresso or a Cafe Cortado goes well with it.
